When it comes to trends in health and wellness, we’ll pretty much try anything once (the things you do in the name of research). We’ve brushed our teeth with activated charcoal, we’ve put Greek Yoghurt in our hair, heck we’ve even suspended ourselves from the roof in silk cocoons in aerial yoga, but this week we WILLINGLY allowed ourselves to be locked inside a chamber at a fresh negative 180 degrees to find out what’s the go with Cryotherapy?
I first heard about Cryotherapy on instagram of all places, and being the inquisitive creature that I am, needed to try it for myself, so I called The Float Space Founder and Director Janina Hilebrand and headed in for my very first session. Upon entering the center, I stripped down to my underwear and put on the woolen socks and gloves I was given and entered the chamber anxious and terrified. Cryotherapy seems to be a bit of a buzz in the industry at the moment, how long has it been around for and where did it all start?
